First step in starting a blog is to let your audience know who you are and what is your purpose. This  has delayed me in starting this blog because who I am is complicated and the exact reason I am writing this blog. This is designed to be for real people to get the real scoop on the world of fitness from the perspective of a real person. So here is who I am:

  • Wife
  • Mother
  • Avid reader
  • Chef and food lover
  • Family Taxi Driver
  • Family Director
  • Fitness enthusiast (most of the time)
  • Healthy eater (a lot of the time)

 …..and I am always just almost fit

I have always been interested in the things that will keep me healthier but am not always the most disciplined in doing said things. I love trying new things and I love to figure out the benefits of new programs. I have tried lots of different eating plans and exercise routines and classes. Some work for me some don’t (mostly because I am not disciplined). Most of all I love to share what I have learned about different and cool things in the fitness industry.

So here’s the disclaimer of who I am not: I am not a trainer, nutritionist, doctor, nurse, physical therapist, counselor, or anything in that related field. Any and all items written about are solely my opinion based on what I have experienced or read about. But that is the reason I am writing. There is a need for us real people to get the scoop on programs and get ideas about being fit from real people and how it all works (or doesn’t) in an imperfect world.

I am a mom to 4 boys with a very wide age range (4 to 18 years) and have been married almost 23 years. As a child I was a gymnast and loved to play but I was never very good at any team sports. In High School I was cut from tennis. Tennis was a no cut-sport at my school (at least until I played). I have always tried to have a work out routine of some sort throughout my entire adult life. In general, I prefer healthy food but really there are not many foods I don’t like. I really do love to eat and think about eating throughout the day. However, I think that I am blessed with a healthy amount of self control.

  2. Love your blog!!! So amazing to finally see a real person who is able to expose the in’s and out’s of themselves and truly be organic. Keep up the lust for life and the love you have for your endless adventures of life. Truly inspiring for the people out there who are imperfect in perfectly every way which makes us who we are.
