I have done so many workout programs over the years. It is not because they don’t work that I have done so many, it is because they do. I loved them all but like a lot of people my life changed, I had more money, or I just was ready for a change. I said I would try to list in order so I will do my best. The list goes back to 1993 (so you can so the math for my age). I want to share what I have learned and what I loved the most. I think it’s really interesting to see how what’s popular in fitness has changed over the years.
The List
- Cindy Crawford’s Shape Your Body VHS
- Rollerblading at the beach
- 24 Hour Fitness Gym Membership
- Aerobics and Step classes at the gym
- Any type of cardio classes
- Circuit Training
- Fitness class at kid’s gymnastics gym
- Running & Machines at the Gym
- Walking with neighbors
- Kickboxing
- Again just going to the gym
- Yoga
- Crossfit
- Boot Camp at 5AM in the Parking Structure of Victoria Gardens
- Rancho Boot Camp
- Running 5Ks & Mudruns
- Fitness Class at kids Karate Studio
- Beachbody – 21 Day Fix & 80 Day Obsession
- Orange Theory
- Barre (only tried once)
- YMCA
- F45

I know there are more but this is what I can remember. While compiling this list, I was able to think of a few things I haven’t tried. These are my next challenges. The best news is I will be able to report my findings!
I have not yet tried:
- Pilates
- Zumba
- Spin Classes
- Hot Yoga
- Trampolines (I am not even sure those exist anymore)
I know that there are others but I hate to name them because I might be afraid to try, well unless it might help you decide if you want to try it.
A Wrap Up & My Favorites (so far)
I loved Step Aerobics! I met a great friend in my class, which always helps. I loved the energy and music. Running has been the most challenging to me. I really want to be a good runner but I am not. I have been told it is mental so I keep trying. If it is mental, it is not a hurdle I have overcome yet. I did Orange Theory for 3 years and would have to say that was probably the longest I stuck to one program. I really loved it and will eventually write a thorough review of my thoughts and experiences. I currently go to F45 and sometimes the Y.

My favorite (not really a) workout program was the year my sister-in-law and I completed a 5K or mudrun every month. I am not sure we did 12 but it was close. Mostly we did MudRuns, but there was a Color Run and Neon Run mixed in there too. They were just fun but challenging. It really pushed our fitness level, especially when we knew we had a run coming up. I am still the “World’s Okayest Runner” but I can now say I am a runner.
I would love to hear suggestions for workout programs you recommend or that I should try so you can find out if you might like them to. I’d also love for you to follow my journey of healthy living. You can follow or subscribe to this blog so you never have to miss a post.
