Boise Fitness Week – Day 5 – Cycle Bar

Going to Cycle Bar was my first experience with a cycle class. I really wasn’t sure what I was doing for most of the class. My first impression of this studio was how welcoming they were. Like most boutique gyms, I had to sign up for the class. For cycle you also choose the bike you would like to use as well. When I arrived, the girl at the front desk recognized I was new and took the time to show me around.

They had shoes for me to borrow so that I could clip into my bike (another thing I had never done before). They had a locker ready for me with a water bottle and a welcome message on the front. Even though I was a bit nervous to try something new, I felt very welcomed and ready to give it a try.

One thing that is different than most types of workouts, is the lighting. The room was dark with the lighting on the instructor. For me I was glad because I felt like my awkwardness did not stick out like a sore thumb!

To be honest, I have no idea how I did. My fitness tracker said that I burned a lot of calories and I was very sweaty after. So, no matter my ability or performance, I definitely got a good workout. Afterward, I got a chance to speak to the instructor and get some tips on what I might try to do next time.

I would like to visit Cycle Bar again, especially since I know now what to expect. It was a high energy workout and would be a great addition to my fitness routine.
